Things to do

There's something for everyone in the area, from exploring the History and Culture of Lincoln or walking through the countryside, to shopping, eating & drinking amongst the cobbled streets of uphill Lincoln or simply sitting by the canal to watch the boats go by.

Shopping, Eating and Drinking
Lincoln is described as a ‘city of two halves’. The tranquil ‘Uphill’ area with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and Medieval Castle mixes 2000 years of history with many specialist shops and café bars. In contrast, the lively ‘Downhill’ area has all the High Street retailers in pedestrianised shopping areas and the Brayford Waterfront provides a variety of places to eat and drink.

Culture and History
Visit the world famous Cathedral, 'one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe' or walk around the Castle walls and see one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta. You can still parts of the original Roman city (Lindum Colonia) and with a mixture of museums, antiques and modern art, there is something for everyone. Saxilby is a large picturesque village situated on the Fossdyke, thought to be the oldest working canal in England.

Countryside and Nature
There is some lovely countryside around Lincoln for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers.

Families
Sundown Adventure Land is a popular day out for families with children under 10 and there are a number of Farm Parks close by for children of all ages to enjoy.
